WD Drive PLUS Portable Hard Drive, USB-C and USB-A - Brand New

The WD Drive PLUS is a pocket-sized external hard drive built around one practical idea: it should connect to whatever you own. A USB-A cable is in the box along with a USB-A to USB-C adapter, so it works with an older desktop, a current laptop, and most Android phones without a trip to buy another cable.

Inside is a 2.5-inch mechanical drive, which is what keeps the price per terabyte low. For photo libraries, video archives, game installs and backups — the things that grow steadily and get read occasionally — a mechanical drive is still the sensible choice. An SSD is faster, but at four or five terabytes the difference in cost is substantial.

Security is handled properly rather than as an afterthought. The WD Drive PLUS supports 256-bit AES hardware encryption with password protection, so the data is encrypted by the drive itself. If it is lost or stolen, the contents are not readable without the password.
