Shark StainStriker Carpet Cleaner PX200C, Navy Open Box

The Shark StainStriker Carpet Cleaner PX200C is a corded handheld spot cleaner built for the mess that happens between deep cleans: a knocked-over mug on the living room rug, muddy paw prints on the stairs, a juice spill on the back seat. It weighs under 9 lb, so it comes out of the cupboard in seconds, and its hose and hand tool reach into the places an upright cannot.

Two Shark formulas ship in the box and mix inside the handheld as you clean, so there is no pre-mixing jug and no waiting for a pretreatment to soak in. Shark rates the pairing at 20x more stain-striking power than its Deep Clean Pro formula on its own. Strong suction then pulls the liquid and the loosened dirt back out of the pile, which is what stops a treated spot from drying into a ring.

Key Features

• Two formulas, mixed on the fly: Deep Clean Pro and OXY Multiplier combine inside the unit as you clean, with no pre-mixing and no pretreating step.
• Pet messes and odours: engineered to lift pet stains and odours out of carpet and upholstery, including pet urine and smoke.
• Strong suction: pulls liquid and deeply embedded dirt back out of the fibres instead of leaving the area soaked.
• Easy-empty dirty water tank: lift the tank off, tip it into the sink, clip it back on and keep going.
• Two cleaning tools: a 3.5 in reversible bristle tool for scrubbing and an integrated crevice tool for seams, edges and car footwells.
• Washable foam filter: rinse and reuse it rather than buying replacements.
• Works across the home: carpets, area rugs, couches and upholstery, stairs, and car interiors.
• 450 W corded power: a 3.66 m cord covers a room without hunting for the nearest outlet, and suction never fades partway through a job.

What to know before you buy

This is a corded spot cleaner, not a cordless one and not a full-size upright: it plugs in, and it is sized for stains and small areas rather than cleaning a whole carpet end to end. It is a wet cleaner, so it is not a replacement for a dry vacuum. There is no app, no Wi-Fi and no self-emptying base, and the dirty water tank is emptied by hand.
