Ninja Professional Blender BL661BBYC 1100W 72 oz Black Open Box

The Ninja Professional Blender BL661BBYC is the Best Buy Canada bundle of Ninja's 1100-watt countertop machine, and it covers two jobs from a single motor base. A 72 oz Total Crushing pitcher handles the batch work for a household, and three 16 oz Nutri Ninja cups twist onto the same base when one person just wants a smoothie before heading out the door. Nothing has to be stored twice and nothing has to be bought separately.

The motor is rated at 1100 watts, and the figure is printed right on the front of the base next to the bilingual control panel. It drives a stacked Total Crushing blade assembly that runs the full height of the pitcher rather than sitting in the bottom inch, so ice and frozen fruit break down from the top of the load as well as the bottom. The pitcher is marked to 72 oz with a 64 oz maximum liquid line, which keeps a full jug of liquid from climbing the lid on a long blend.

Controls are deliberately simple. A power key, three numbered speeds and a dedicated pulse sit on one bilingual English and French panel, with a separate single serve key for the Nutri Ninja cups. There is no screen to read and no menu to scroll: you pick a speed, or you tap pulse to feather a chunky salsa, and you watch the jar instead of a display. The pitcher, lid and blade assembly lift apart in a few seconds for cleaning, and the Pro Extractor blades for the cups come out the same way.

It is worth being clear about what this configuration is not. This is a manual blender: there are no programmed shortcuts, no timer display, no digital display and no tamper. It is not rated for nut butters, nut milks, flour, bread dough, batters or hot soup, so those jobs belong to a different machine. What it is rated for is ice, frozen desserts, green smoothies, purees and sauces, dips and spreads, and general food prep, which is the short list most kitchens actually ask a blender to cover.
