Small-Batch Prep Without Dragging Out the Food Processor
The Express Chop NJ100C is Ninja's compact 200-watt food chopper, built for the jobs that quietly make cooking slow: dicing half an onion, mincing a clove of garlic, breaking down a handful of herbs, or pureeing the base of a sauce or dressing. It stands about 25.7 cm tall on a 14.5 cm footprint, so it stores in a cupboard or sits on the counter without claiming the space a full-size food processor demands.
Everything is driven by a one-touch Power Pod that seats on top of the bowl. Press and it chops; release and it stops. There are no programs to learn and no dial to set, and that is the point, because the only control that matters here is how long you hold it. The same bowl of tomatoes goes from roughly diced to a smooth salsa without stopping to scrape down the walls of a tall jug, and short taps give you a coarse chop when that is what the recipe wants.
Key Features
- 200-watt motor - enough torque for onions, carrots, nuts and hard herbs without stalling partway through a bowl.
- Ninja blade technology - a four-blade assembly stacked up the full height of the bowl, so ingredients are cut evenly from top to bottom instead of collecting untouched above the blade.
- One-touch pulse Power Pod - tap for a coarse chop, hold for a puree. No programs, no speed settings, nothing to reset between jobs.
- 16 oz working bowl - 473 ml, marked in both cups and ounces, sized for dips, dressings, toppings and the aromatics for a weeknight dinner.
- Splash guard doubles as a storage lid - seal the bowl and put it straight in the fridge instead of decanting what you just made into another container.
- Non-slip base - keeps the bowl planted on the counter while you press down on the pod.
- BPA free and dishwasher safe - a short cleanup for something you will reach for most days.
What to Know Before You Buy
This is a chopper, not a food processor, and the difference is worth being clear about. There is no slicing disc, no shredding disc and no feed chute, so it will not julienne a carrot or grate a block of cheese. What it does is reduce ingredients already in the bowl, in 473 ml batches, which covers most of what home cooks actually reach for. If you need a machine that slices and shreds, look at a full-size Ninja kitchen system instead; if you have been doing this work by hand with a knife and a board, this replaces it well.
