The Flip Toaster Oven SP151C answers the problem every countertop oven creates: it earns its keep for twenty minutes and then sits in the way for the rest of the day. When the cooking is finished you lift the whole cavity up and back against the backsplash, and the footprint it leaves behind is half what it was. The counter goes back to being a counter.

Underneath the trick is a capable oven. Six infrared heating elements sit above and below the cavity, and Ninja's OvenCrisp system pairs that radiant heat with circulating air, so food browns on the outside while convection keeps the temperature even from end to end. The cavity holds 13.3 L, which in practice means a 12-inch pizza, six slices of bread, or six chicken breasts, and it will take up to 4 lb of ingredients at once. A family-sized meal for four comes out in as little as 20 minutes.

Eight functions cover most of what a second oven is for: air fry, roast, broil, bake, pizza, toast, bagel and dehydrate. The panel keeps them on one row of indicator lights beside a digital display, with mode, temperature and time on their own plus and minus keys. Toast gets its own logic, so you set shade and slice count rather than guessing at minutes. The temperature band runs from 85F for drying fruit up to 450F for roasting, and an interior light lets you check on a tray without opening the door.

What to know before you buy

This is a toaster oven and air fryer rather than a multi-cooker, so there is no slow-cook mode, no rotisserie spit and no defrost-by-weight setting. The exterior is not cool-touch, so leave it a little clearance on the counter and use the handle. Ninja lists the accessories as hand-wash only rather than dishwasher safe. The crumb tray slides out from the front for cleaning.
